Overview
According to section 14.3 of the PDF specification guide (PDF32000_2008), a metadata is global information about the document which is intended to assist in cataloging and searching for documents in external databases. This metadata holds the following information.
Title
The document’s titleAuthor
The name of the person who created the document.Subject
The subject of the document.Keywords
Keywords associated with the document.
Creator
If the document was converted to PDF from another format, the name of the conforming product that created the original document from which it was converted.Producer
If the document was converted to PDF from another format, the name of the conforming product that converted it to PDF.CreationDate date
The date and time the document was created, in human-readable form (see PDF32000_2008 7.9.4, “Dates”).ModDate
The date and time the document was most recently modified, in human-readable form (see PDF32000_2008 7.9.4, “Dates”).Trapped
A name object indicating whether the document has been modified to include trapping information (see PDF32000_2008 14.11.6, “Trapping Support”).
